As the use of small drones (under 25 kg) becomes increasingly common in Indonesia, clear rules are essential to keep the skies safe and well-regulated. Indonesian aviation authorities have introduced specific regulations covering who may operate drones, where and how they can be flown, and the safety standards that must be followed. This short review highlights the key policies shaping small-drone operations in Indonesia and explains how current regulations seek to balance innovation, public safety, and airspace security.
