CASP Expands International Network in Space Law through Collaboration with GUAOSPLE

The Centre for Air and Space Policy (CASP) was extended an invitation by Professor Wang Guo Yu (王国语) to participate in the Global University Alliance of Space Policies and Law Education (GUAOSPLE) as a partner organisation. GUAOSPLE is structured into four categories: the Advisory Board, Co-founders, Members, and Partners. As CASP operates as an independent research organisation, it was designated the status of Partner within the alliance.
CASP now stands alongside an esteemed group of partner organisations, including ATmoto Co, LTD; the Center for Space Economy and Policy Studies, Russia; the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP); Law Space Africa; the London Institute of Space Policy and Law (ISPL); the Lunar Policy Platform (LPP); the Moon Village Association (MVA); the Open Lunar Foundation; and the Three Country Trusted Broker (TCTB).
The alliance is dedicated to reshaping the future of space policies and law, aiming for a more inclusive and balanced approach that fosters cooperation and upholds the peaceful use of outer space. In support of this mission, CASP agreed to join the alliance and signed an agreement with the GUAOSPLE secretariat in June 2025. This agreement is set to be renewed every six years.
As a partner, CASP holds both rights and responsibilities within the alliance. These include the ability to nominate other potential partners through the relevant regional secretariat and to participate in alliance programmes by appointing designated experts. Such involvement may encompass delivering lectures to alliance students, contributing to training initiatives, and taking part in alliance events. Furthermore, the alliance will hold a biennial conference to facilitate continued engagement and collaboration.
This partnership and collaborative spirit were underscored during a major gathering held in conjunction with the 23rd Conference on International Exchange of Professionals. The event was also aligned with the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) Global Partner Week, spanning two significant locations in China: Shanghai and the BIT campus in Jiaxing-Zhejiang Province from 20 to 22 October. The inaugural conference of GUAOSPLE itself took place at the BIT campus in Beijing from 23 to 24 October, marking a significant milestone for all participants and the future of global space policy and law education.
